spiulina green smoothie

BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE BOOSTER

I’m not  huge fan of green smoothie but this I absolutely love! I feel like Pop Eye eating spinach when I have this smoothie, it really does give you an instant booster and an energy pick up. I have it in the mornings sometimes and it’s a great start to the day. My little boy loves it too – a great way to add extra nutrients into their diet.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Apple
1 Banana
1 Pear
1tsp Spirulina powder
Handful of lettuce
Cucumber (approx. 3cm)
Handful of spinach
Zest of half a lemon
Splash of water

PREP TIME: 4 min, COOKING TIME: 0 min, SERVING: 1

HOW TO MAKE:

-Roughly chop lettuce, cucumber, spinach and add to a blender
-Add spirulina powder, and splash of water and blitz all together until smooth
-Roughly chop and add an apple, banana and pear
-Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and blitz all together for around 10-15 seconds
-Add more water if the consistency is too thick

SYNS: blending fruits will give them a syn value, all together this smoothie has around 9.5 syns (this is what I call smart syns) If you choose not to syn blended fruits then count 1 syn for spirulina powder
